This well-preserved 1800s double-chimney cape on Hatch Cove is a Castine landmark. Perched on a hill overlooking Castine and its harbor, this historic home on two acres is two miles from Castine village and has year round water views from all three floors.
The house was built in the first two decades of the 1800s by a family with substantial land holdings in Castine and mid-coast Maine. Local history has it that it once served as a schoolhouse. The home’s high ceilings, Indian shutters, double chimneys and detailing suggest that the original owners were prosperous.
